So, if I'm being completely honest, I don't always participate in our church's corporate spiritual fast. Some days I forget it's Wednesday. Other days, my flesh wins and I just say "forget it" and go about my day, eating all day. But when I actually participate, I feel so accomplished!
Today I fasted out of gratitude. My sacrifice was that of gratitude. God really showed out on me today. I woke up from a dream that my company went national. I woke up praising God. Not to mention, yesterday I was in need of $$$ for my quarterly taxes and had no clue where they would come from. This morning I woke up to over $13k in my bank accounts (thanks IRS and SBA). THEN I got a message to pick up a check from a contractor. I was expecting to receive the shortened amount from the hours I served but they blessed me with the FULL check! Won't God do it?! Oh, and yesterday I was in need of $500 for repairs on something I need to continue to move my dreams forward.
God blessed my socks off today in ALL the ways. I owe him my praise. I owe him my sacrifice. Knowing these things didn't make me not hungry today. In fact, I'm REALLY hungry right now. But I'm glad I could offer up my flesh as a sacrifice to him.
